This is a preview of the Jets offseason.
QB- Mark Sanchez defines the statement the qb gets all the credit and all the blame. He did not get better but the team got worse last year. If Sanchez digresses then they will look for a new qb but for this year he is the franchise qb.
RB- This position has been perceived better then they really are because of the Jets having a great o-line, but that faltered, so did the RB's. LT is a free agent and don't expect him back look for them to add a rb in the early to mid rounds, as Shonn Greene has been a disappointment.
WR- This position is in chaos for this team for specifically Santonio Holmes. Don't expect Plaxico Burress to resign. Look for them to add a big receiver in the mid rounds.
TE- Dustin Keller has been a good TE. Although could improve in his blocking. Look for the Jets to add a blocking TE in free agency.
OL- This unit has been a huge disappointment outside of Nick Mangold. They have been drafting plenty of Interior o-lineman however ignoring the tackles. Look for them early to draft an offensive tackle.
DL- This unit overachieved towards their talent level. Sionne Pouha is free agent and it is 50/50 whether he comes back. Rex Ryan relies more on depth then talent so look for them to add depth in the draft.
LB- This unit was a big disappointment in terms of defending the run. Outside of David Harris there isn't much talent here. Rex Ryan has to blitz in order to create pressure. So look for the Jets in the first or 2nd round to draft an outside pass rusher.
DB- This unit succeeded and failed. The CB's were one of the best in the league, but the safeties were very average. With Jim Leonard being a free agent look for them to add a ball hawking safety in the mid rounds as all there other safeties are box safeties.
